AtomRC Beluga is a twin-engine aircraft with a wingspan of 1270 mm, suitable mainly for longer and more relaxed flights. The aircraft is made of EPP material reinforced with carbon. EPP is highly durable and can be easily glued in case of damage.
Beluga has a conventional aircraft layout. The model is equipped with independently controlled ailerons, dual elevator, rudder and flaps. Optionally, a retractable landing gear (not included) can be added. The aerodynamically shaped fuselage with a large internal space allows easy installation of FPV equipment or additional components, while also reducing air resistance. The classic airframe shape with trapezoidal wing profile contributes to extended flight time and efficient lift transmission. The removable canopy provides easy access to the electronics and allows for the installation of an FPV camera for a more immersive first-person experience.
In the central section between the wings, there is space underneath for placing the flight controller, receiver, and other accessories. Under the canopy, there is a compartment measuring 82x230x45 mm for the battery. To achieve long flight times, a 6S1P–6S2P Li-ion battery made of 21700 cells can be used. Above the wings, there is space for an analog video transmitter with sufficient airflow for cooling. The wings are easily removable to simplify transport. LED lights are integrated into the wingtips for better orientation and visibility of the aircraft.
Beluga comes in KIT version – this means it includes only the EPP airframe without motors, servos or any electronics. The recommended setup includes two 2807 1300KV motors, 40–50A ESCs, seven 9g servos, and 7–8" propellers.
