BetaFPV Air VTX is a miniature analog video transmitter with 25mW output, suitable for racing whoops and other lightweight micro drones. It weighs only 0.6g (without antenna) and the board measures just 14x10.5mm, allowing it to fit even the smallest builds where every tenth of a gram matters.

The 25mW output is intended for short-range flying, typically at races and indoors. The video transmitter also supports PIT mode, which transmits at minimum output — useful when powering on the drone at the race start so the transmitter does not interfere with other pilots in the air. It operates in the 5.8GHz band on 48 channels across six bands (A, B, E, F, R, L), including Raceband (5658-5917MHz), and transmits video in both PAL and NTSC standards. The transmitter is built around an RTC6705 chip with PLL frequency synthesis for stable frequency.

Band, channel and output can be conveniently configured through the flight controller using the SmartAudio 2.0 protocol — in Betaflight, set the VTX (TBS SmartAudio) peripheral on the appropriate UART, then control the transmitter in the FEATURES > VTX SA section of the OSD menu (Pitch stick up, Yaw stick left). Output can only be changed via SmartAudio. The band and channel can also be switched using the BOOT button directly on the board; the current status is indicated by blue (band) and green (channel) LEDs. If the button is not used within 15 seconds after power-up, the settings lock to prevent accidental changes. Hold the button for 5-10 seconds to unlock.

The video transmitter is powered by 5V from the flight controller BEC and draws 150mA at 25mW output. It connects to the flight controller via four solder pads (5V, GND, VTX, SA); the video transmitter has no mounting holes. The antenna connects via a u.FL (IPEX) connector. The package includes a connection cable, copper wire antenna, whip antenna and heat shrink tubing. The manufacturer recommends pairing it with the BetaFPV Matrix 1S 4IN1 flight controller, which has pads for an external analog video transmitter and integrated OSD.

Warning: Do not power on the video transmitter without an antenna connected.
