Ceys Special Screw Threadlocker 6 g is an anaerobic threadlocker for metal threaded joints that need to be secured against loosening due to vibrations. It is a single-component, solvent-free dimethacrylate resin that cures only in a narrow gap between metal parts without air access — it therefore remains liquid in an open container and hardens only after the joint is assembled. It fills thread gaps up to 0.1mm, hermetically seals the joint and protects the thread against moisture and corrosion. The manufacturer states it is suitable for all types of metals and for joints between metal and other materials.

In a modelling workshop, it is suitable for motor screws, stack screws, frame arm screws and landing gear screws, i.e. wherever the joint is only dismantled occasionally but drivetrain vibrations gradually loosen it. The cured joint withstands impacts and vibrations and, according to the manufacturer, also fuels, oils and solvents. The breakaway torque is 14Nm and drops to 5Nm during disassembly, so the screw can be loosened with standard tools in several successive turns, without heating or drilling out.

The consistency is thixotropic with a viscosity of 3000-7000mPa.s, so the adhesive does not drip or migrate along the part after application. The assembly can be handled approximately 15 to 20 minutes after fastening, heavier loads are recommended only after one to two hours, and the joint reaches full strength after 24 hours at 20°C. With an activator for anaerobic adhesives, curing is reduced to under 5 minutes. The temperature resistance of the cured joint is -50°C to +150°C.

The adhesive achieves the best results on cleaned and degreased threads, so we recommend preparing the parts before application. Apply drops directly from the container to both joined parts, which are then fastened in the usual way. Wipe off excess before it dries with a cloth dampened with universal thinner; clean tools with water, and after curing only with acetone. Store in the original packaging in a cool place away from sunlight, ideally around 5°C. Shelf life is 36 months at 20°C.
