FatShark Echo are box-style FPV goggles for receiving analog video in the 5.8 GHz band, suitable mainly for beginner pilots or as backup goggles. They are ideal as first goggles when starting with FPV flying, for example in combination with an analog tiny whoop.
The image is displayed on a 4.3" TFT display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, which is sufficient for displaying an analog feed. The aspect ratio is 16:9 and the field of view is FOV 55°.
Reception is handled by an integrated 40-channel receiver with one antenna, covering all common bands including RaceBand. Channels, bands and auto search are controlled by two buttons on the top of the goggles, while display settings are controlled with a four-way joystick. Auto search finds and sets the channel with the strongest signal. The receiver is not diversity, so we recommend replacing the included dipole antenna with a circularly polarized antenna matching the antenna on the drone. The antenna connects via an SMA connector. The integrated OSD displays the channel number, signal strength (RSSI) and battery status. It disappears after 4 seconds and can be shown again by pressing any button.
The goggles support DVR and record the received image to a microSD card up to 32 GB in AVI format. Recorded files can be played back directly in the goggles. A memory card is not included. The goggles firmware is also updated via the SD card. An external video receiver or another analog video source can be connected via the 3.5 mm AV input. The goggles do not feature an HDMI input or head tracking.
Power is supplied by a built-in 2600 mAh 18650 Li-ion cell. The cell is located in a covered battery bay on the bottom of the goggles, making it easy to replace with a spare. The battery charges via USB-C, so you can use a standard phone charger or power bank.
