FlyingRC BEC 4-12S 10A is a powerful step-down BEC for powering servos, cameras, video transmitters, and other onboard electronics directly from the main battery. The input voltage corresponds to 4-12S LiPo, so it is suitable for large aircraft models or cinelifters. The input voltage must always be at least 0.8V higher than the set output.

The output voltage is selected by bridging solder pads. Unconnected pads mean the default 5.2V, bridging the middle pad with the right one gives 8V, and with the left one 12V. Continuously, the converter can handle 8A without any cooling and 10A with a heatsink or airflow. The 12V rail delivers a maximum of 9A.

Regulation is controlled by the TI LM5116 circuit with current-mode control, which allows the converter to respond very quickly to sudden load changes. This is especially useful for servos, which draw power in bursts. The power stage consists of two external Infineon MOSFETs, the input is filtered by six parallel 10µF MLCC capacitors, and the output by six 47µF MLCC capacitors. The board is four-layer, 1.60mm thick, with an immersion gold finish.

The package includes a 220µF 35V electrolytic capacitor, which is soldered to the input.

Warning: If the input voltage is higher than 35V, it is necessary to install a different capacitor with the appropriate voltage rating. Otherwise, there is a risk of damage / capacitor explosion.
