FlyingRC Entry Stack F405 + 45A ESC is an affordable stack that combines the F4D MK1 flight controller and a 4-in-1 45A ESC with AM32 firmware. The set is suitable for 4-6" drones powered by 3-6S LiPo batteries.

The flight controller is based on the STM32F405RGT6 processor clocked at 168MHz with 1MB Flash memory and 192KB RAM, combined with the ICM-42688-P gyroscope. Altitude measurement is handled by the DPS310 barometer. Analog video is processed by the AT7465E OSD chip, and a 6-pin connector is ready for digital video transmitters. Blackbox data is stored in 16MB of onboard memory. There are 6 UARTs, with UART3 providing only the RX pin, plus an I2C bus for connecting a compass and 5 PWM outputs - four for motors and one for a WS2812 LED strip.

Peripheral power is provided by a pair of MP9943 converters - a 5V/3A BEC and a 9V/2A BEC for the video transmitter and camera. The 9V rail can be switched on and off via PINIO1 (User1 in Betaflight), so the video transmitter does not overheat when setting up on the bench.

The board supports Betaflight, iNav and ArduPilot firmware and comes with Betaflight preinstalled. The target used for Betaflight, iNav and ArduPilot is Matek F405-TE.

The ESC handles a continuous current of 45A per channel. It is equipped with HYG011N04 MOSFETs with an on-state resistance of only 1.0mΩ in a DFN 5x6 package. The PCB has 6 layers with 2oz copper and two surface-soldered gold-plated copper strips that help carry current and reduce resistance and heat. Control is handled by a 32-bit QF32F4AK8U7 processor at 120MHz with an integrated ID6288 driver. The ESC uses AM32 firmware, supports DShot150/300/600, OneShot and PWM, and handles sinusoidal startup with high torque at low RPM. It includes a current sensor and a telemetry TX pad. The included 680uF/35V capacitor and the power cable with an XT60 connector must be soldered to the ESC.

The flight controller supports mounting patterns of 30.5x30.5mm M4 (M3 with softmount) and 20x20mm M4 (M3 with softmount). After cutting off the mounting tabs, the board size is reduced from 36.6x36.6mm to 28.1x31.1mm. The ESC has a mounting pattern of 30.5x30.5mm M4 (M3 with softmount). Both boards are connected with an 8-pin SH1.0 cable.

FlyingRC is a drone and robotics electronics brand whose development team is based in Singapore.
