HEQUAV Swan K1 Pro PNP is a VTOL aircraft with a wingspan of 1100 mm for 4S LiPo batteries, suitable for long-range FPV flights. It takes off and lands vertically in quadcopter mode and then transitions to fixed-wing flight, so it does not need a runway or a launch bungee and can be launched from confined terrain. The PNP version is intentionally a bare platform — the video transmission system, camera, RC receiver and battery are chosen by the pilot.
The design has no control surfaces. The aircraft has no ailerons, elevator, rudder or servos and is controlled exclusively by differential thrust from four motors. Apart from the motors, it therefore has no moving parts, which simplifies maintenance and removes the most common source of mechanical failures in aircraft. The EPP foam airframe consists of a fuselage, two motor arms, two wings and a nose weight. The whole unit can be disassembled and assembled without tools, so it can be transported in parts.
The fuselage is factory-fitted with a control unit with PX4 firmware, ESC, GPS module, airspeed sensor and WiFi module. Setup and tuning of parameters are done wirelessly in the QGroundControl mobile app, and the aircraft connects as its own WiFi network. Propulsion is provided by four 2212 980 KV motors with 9060 propellers mounted in the arms. The motor has a diameter of 27 mm, an overall height of 26.45 mm and a 5 mm shaft. Power is supplied via an XT60 connector, peripherals are connected via GH1.25 connectors. The control unit also supports SIYI and Skydroid RC links.
Wind resistance corresponds to Beaufort scale 5, roughly 38 km/h. The empty airframe weighs 1 kg with a maximum takeoff weight of 2.2 kg, leaving around 1.2 kg for battery and payload. One-button takeoff, smart return-to-home in both flight modes and failsafe are supported; in quadcopter mode the aircraft holds position using GPS.
The battery bay measures 75 x 35 x 65 mm, the receiver connects via the SBUS protocol and requires a transmitter with 7 or more channels. The aircraft supports both analog and digital video transmission.
The model is in PNP version: The fuselage has the control unit, ESC, GPS module, airspeed sensor and WiFi module installed, and the motors are mounted in the arms. The RC receiver, transmitter, battery, charger, video transmission system and camera are not included.
Important notice: Setup requires a modified version of QGroundControl, available for download on the manufacturer's website. The standard version from the official QGC website may not be compatible with the aircraft.
