iFlight R5 2207 Race 2220Kv is a powerful motor suitable for 5" racing drones with 6S LiPo batteries. It belongs to the R5 series, developed by the manufacturer for Mach R5 racing quadcopters. The motor features very high Kv and higher maximum power, making it suitable for pilots who want the sharpest response and highest speed. We recommend using the motor with a lightweight propeller.
It uses rounded N52H magnets with a groove in the middle, which shorten the motor response to throttle changes, and NMB bearings for smooth operation. The rigid connection of the one-piece bell (“unibell") to the shaft made it possible to reduce the air gap between the magnets and stator, increasing magnetic flux, efficiency and power. The winding is made from a single copper wire.
The motor weighs 30.4 grams including 150mm cables. It mounts to the frame with M3 screws on a 16mm pattern, while the propeller is attached to the 5mm shaft with an M5 nut.
The motors have a base for mounting with only two screws. The L and R variants differ in base orientation. Due to the very high Kv, aggressive flying with an unsuitable propeller can burn the motor winding.
