Caddx Farsight Z40

Caddx Farsight Z40 is an analog camera with hybrid zoom, suitable for long-range drones and inspection UAV systems. The system consists of two physical cameras — a wide-angle (1/1.8" sensor, FOV 150°) for standard shots and a telephoto (1/2" sensor, 48MP) for detailed long-range shots — and an AI box that processes the image and controls zoom. Hybrid zoom combines optical, digital, and AI processing and enables smooth zooming in the range of 1–40×.

The output is a standard analog signal CVBS (PAL) with a fixed aspect ratio of 4:3 and a frame rate of 50fps. The camera is powered in the range of 9–24V via the AI box. Zoom is controlled by a PWM signal from the flight controller — the duty cycle value directly corresponds to the magnification level. Another assigned channel can be used to switch between day mode (with IR filter) and night vision (without filter), or to instantly reset zoom to 1×. Configuration requires assigning pins and servo/PINIO channels in Betaflight CLI.

The dimensions of the camera module are 21,4×22,5×30mm, the AI box dimensions are 33,5×33,5×12,35mm. Total system power consumption is less than 2W. Operating temperature is −20 to 60 °C.
