Rotorama Calypso 5" is an ultralight frame for 5" propellers. Calypso 5" weighs 46 grams and is designed for both analog and digital video transmission systems. Calypso has arms made of 4mm thick carbon, which are secured not only by 2 M3 screws, but also by latches in the front side plates. This keeps the arms firmly in place. In the event of a hard crash and breakage, replacement is very easy. The front side plates are made of 3mm thick carbon and therefore safely protect the camera. A 3D print can then be easily mounted on the top standoffs, whether it is an HD camera mount or GPS. The top and bottom plates are made of 2mm thick carbon to keep the weight within reasonable limits. The Calypso fits two 20x20mm stacks in a row. You can therefore comfortably fit a Caddx Vista or a hybrid HD camera. Instead of holes, the stacks are placed into oval slots, so the stack positions can be adjusted so both fit comfortably into the frame. Under the front stack there is a cutout for placing a capacitor. The distance between the top and bottom plates is 24mm, which provides plenty of room for all components. Any antenna mount can then be placed on the rear standoffs. The package includes a mount for an SMA pigtail or the antenna supplied with the Caddx Vista.
The arms have M2 holes on a 12mm diameter bolt circle. We recommend using 1507-2004 motors with lightweight propellers such as Gemfan 5125, HQ T5x3 or HQ T5x2x3. Thanks to the low weight of the quad, it is not a problem to achieve a flight time of 7-10 minutes with a calm flying style. When using a 4S battery, we recommend a capacity of 850-1300mAh.
