VAS Avenger XR15 5.8GHz - 120mm RHCP SMA

VAS Avenger XR15 is a directional antenna with right-hand circular polarization RHCP, an SMA connector, and 15dBic gain for the 5200-6400MHz band. It is the smallest model in the Avenger series, designed for the receiving side in long-range flying. It is based on the patented Crosshair Xtreme antenna technology, which VAS has enhanced with a parasitic waveguide — this increased not only gain, but also the axial ratio to 0.99. A high axial ratio means very pure circular polarization, thanks to which the antenna suppresses reflections and the opposite polarization signal more effectively.

The radiation beam is 64°, with a -3dB drop occurring at a deviation of ±18° from the axis. Within the Avenger series, this is the widest coverage — the antenna is more tolerant of model movement and less demanding on precise aiming than the XR16 (44°) or XR18 (32°). Even so, it must be pointed at the model and is not suitable as the only antenna on the receiver. The manufacturer recommends combining it on a diversity receiver with an omnidirectional antenna, such as the VAS Ion Pro or Victory. The directional antenna provides range and signal penetration through trees and buildings, while the omnidirectional antenna covers the near surroundings, takeoffs, and landings.

The dimensions are 120x70x65mm, weight 51g. Unlike the larger models in the series, thanks to its low weight it can be conveniently mounted directly on FPV goggles; use on a tripod, ground station, or separate mount is of course also possible. The antenna housing is 3D printed, so minor surface imperfections are normal and do not affect functionality.
