VAS Universal Vee Antenna 900MHz-5.8GHz is a linearly polarized antenna made of flexible PCB that can be tuned by trimming to any band used for video transmission — from 900MHz up to 5.8GHz. One piece replaces an entire set of single-band antennas. It was designed by Alex Greve, known by the nickname IBCrazy.
On both sides of the circuit board, marks are indicated for 900MHz, 1.2GHz, 1.3GHz, 2.4GHz, 3.3GHz and 5.8GHz. At full length, the antenna is tuned to 900MHz; trimming it at the marked line retunes it to a higher band. Solder pads are located at the cut points, so if you return to a lower frequency, the cut-off part can be soldered back on — switching the video transmitter to another band therefore does not mean buying a new antenna.
The V-shaped arms form a dipole with a gain of 1.9dBi and an omnidirectional radiation pattern with linear polarization. It connects via a coaxial lead terminated with an SMA connector. The flat design can be easily mounted along the arm or on the model body.
Video Aerial Systems (VAS) is an American company focused on antenna development and production. It was founded in 2011 by Alex Greve, known in the FPV community as IBCrazy. It holds several of its own patents and their antennas are among the absolute best.
