XF Headtracker is a device that captures the head movements of the pilot. It is mounted on FPV goggles and, using a built-in 3-axis gyroscope and accelerometer, converts head movements into control signals. This allows, for example, controlling a gimbal camera or steering surfaces such as rudder and elevator simply by moving your head.

The device communicates via PPM output through a 3.5mm jack or UART interface. The PPM output can be connected to an RC transmitter via the trainer port. For easy integration, wireless PPM modules (not included) can also be used.

Control is performed directly on the device using buttons. You can calibrate the center position, switch axes, or activate the “centering” mode. Sensitivity can be adjusted as needed – from smooth gimbal control to faster response for flight control. The module powers on by pressing any button. A single press checks the battery status. To power on or off, press a button twice, holding the second press for two seconds.

Headtracking can also be calibrated using the CwHeadTracker PC software, connected via the USB-C port. The Headtracker comes factory-calibrated. Unless absolutely necessary, do not recalibrate the accelerometer, gyroscope, or compass. The software also enables firmware updates.

Power is supplied by a built-in 300mAh LiPo battery, rechargeable via the USB-C port. Runtime depends on usage mode. With PPM output, the battery lasts up to 8 hours.

The Headtracker has compact dimensions of 45×28.2×14.4 mm and weighs only 16.5 g, so it doesn’t obstruct or weigh down the goggles.
